Antonio Conte Scoops Premier League Manager of the Year Award After Stunning Year at Chelsea




Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been named the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Year after guiding his team to the title in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian, who arrived after managing his national team last summer, beat the likes of Paul Clement, Sean Dyche, Eddie Howe, Mauricio Pochettino and Tony Pulis to the prize. The Blues earned a record 30 wins from 38 games and sealed the league title with a win at West Brom earlier this month.




Conte has seen the likes of N'Golo Kante win PFA Players' Player of the Year and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois win the Golden Glove, in a year that has seen the west London club sweep all before them. Chelsea ended their season with a 5-1 win over Sunderland on Sunday afternoon, and emotionally waved goodbye to long-time club captain John Terry - who brought his 22-year spell with the club to an end.

The Italian's switch to a 3-4-3 formation after an early defeat to Arsenal in the last campaign proved crucial to his side's rise to the top. Following that game, Chelsea went on to win 13 consecutive games under his tutelage and eventually built up what was to be an unassailable lead.
Conte will be hoping to repeat his heroics of this season in the next campaign, and takes home what is a thoroughly deserved Barclays Premier League Manager of the Year prize.
