Portugal wants to win champions without much talk
LEAPYGUIDE.COM - Portugal is arguably one of the favorites in the 2017 Confederations Cup. But A Seleccao just wants to prove himself on the pitch without saying much.
Portugal joined in Group A at the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia. They are with hosts Russia and also Mexico and New Zealand.
Russia and Mexico will be the biggest challenge to get away from the group phase. But overall the tournament, there are still Chile and Germany who could be a heavy opponent towards the championship ladder.
Ahead of undergoing the first game contra Mexico in Kazan Arena on Sunday (18/06/2017), local time, Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio insists his team is determined to win this tournament.
"We are here to win this tournament but we also want to maximize our experience here, of course we will do our best and our target is champion," he said quoted Soccerway.
"We want to win but we have to prove it There is no point in saying we are favorites We have to be ready for anything that may come up during the game If it is not possible to play well, the most important thing is to win.
"We are more than motivated.A championship like this means we are all happy and extraordinarily motivated.Not every national team can be here.We are fully focused on the game," he added.
