Arsenal Defeat BATE Borisov 4-2


Leapyguide.com - Arsenal won their second victory in the Europa League group phase this season. The Gunners beat the Belarusian side, BATE Borisov, with a score of 4-2.

Theo Walcott contributed two goals for Arsenal in the game at Borisov Arena, Barysaw, Friday (29/09/2017) . Two other Arsenal goals scored by Rob Holding and Olivier Giroud. Meanwhile, BATE twice retaliated through Mirko Ivanic and Mikhail Gordeychuk.

The match looked to one-sided in the first half. Arsenal took a 3-0 lead in 25 minutes through Walcott's goal in the ninth and 22nd minutes as well as Holding's goal in the 25th minute. BATE then thinned behind Ivanic's goal in the 28th minute.

Giroud penalty in the 49th minute enlarge the benefits of Arsenal to 4-1. Goal Gordeychuk in the 67th minute finally thinned BATE defeat.

Thanks to this victory, Arsenal firmly at the top of Group H with six points from two games, above Red Star Belgrade who collected four points. BATE sits in third with one point.

The game

Arsenal immediately steps on the gas once the fight begins. The visitors had a golden chance in the eighth minute. In a well-constructed attack, Walcott faced straight goalkeeper Denis Scherbitski, but the finish was just about the goalpost.

Walcott actually busted BATE's goal the next minute. Beginning a one-two bait between Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud, Walcott successfully maximizes cross Wilshere into goals. Although his header denied Scherbitski, Walcott immediately grabbed the ball gag into the goal.

Walcott scored again in the 22nd minute to enlarge the advantage of Arsenal to 2-0. This goal is not separated from the fatal mistakes made by Scherbitski. Intending to pass the ball after receiving a backpass, the BATE goalkeeper's runway led instead to Walcott. Walcott did not waste a golden opportunity in front of the eye and break the BATE goal through his horizontal shot.

Just three minutes later, Arsenal's advantage grew to 3-0 thanks to a Holding goal. Starting from a corner football situation, Holding scored from close range by forwarding Per Mertesacker's header ball.

However, BATE attenuated its lag to 1-3 in the 28th minute. Ivanic tore the Arsenal goal through his header after getting across from Aleksey Rios.

Entering the 44th minute, Holding almost scored his second goal. However, his close-range shot thwarted the goalpost. 3-1 Score for Arsenal excellence was not changed until the first half ended.

Three minutes after the second half begins, Arsenal is awarded a penalty following a foul on Shkodran Mustafi. Giroud advanced as an executor and coolly conquered Scherbitski. Arsenal winning 4-1.

BATE again minimize the lag in the 67th minute through Gordeychuk's goal. Gordeychuk grabbed the ball rebound after Ivanic's header pushed over David Ospina. BATE 2, Arsenal 4.

Gordeychuk goal that makes BATE more excited to press Arsenal. The home side had a golden opportunity to score the third goal in the 71st minute, but the free-standing Aleksandr Volodko failed to take advantage of it. Volodko's shots are off the mark.

In the remaining time, both teams are equally unable to score additional goals. The game ended with a score of 4-2 for Arsenal victory.
